An Ohioan by birth and raised there. Husband(my high school sweetheart), his first job moved us to South Carolina where we lived for 5 years. I taught school there for three years and with the birth of our first child, I began a new career as a full-time mom or domestic engineer! Husband’s next job moved us to the St. Louis, MO area where our other 6 children were born(no, we’re not Catholic or Mormon, the usual questions we get for having 7 kids!), and after 19 years there, husband’s newest job moved us to Rolla, MO in South-Central MO, a gateway to the Ozark Mountains and a major college town, too.
I look at world and US issues with a conservative eye, I am a christian in my faith, love reading, a bit of flower gardening, walking, needlepoint, home school our children until the 8th grade, and I love classic movies. When our local newspaper, The Rolla Daily News, put out a call for bloggers, I volunteered and was accepted. The aim was and still is, to write two blogs a week. Thus, I decided one blog a week would be about pop culture, political, community, or raising kids type of topics. My other post, usually on Fridays, is dedicated to a classic movie that I have seen and enjoyed. I am doing my part to educate those younger than me to check out classic movies; black and white film doesn’t mean boring!!!

Dear Jenni,
How are you? I haven’t heard anything from you in a while, so I wanted to say hello. I haven’t received your article on the two Ben-Hur films yet. I know that this is a very busy time for a lot of people. If you haven’t read it yet, don’t worry. I am excepting articles for “The Great Breening Blogathon” all through this week. In fact, no matter how late you post it, I will put any article on the roster if it has a Breenathon banner!
Yours Hopefully,
Tiffany Brannan

Peace!

Hi! I am alive and doing well, just really busy with my part-time job at one of our local elementary schools. Also I will be going back to school(ugh!) to take 3 classes and then the state of MO will upgrade my teaching certificate, then I can apply to teach full-time, next school year. Thanks for the info about the two upcoming blogathons. I’ll be thinking about if I can participate or not in the next couple weeks.

I’d love to join in on the Dallas fun…I was glancing at the guest stars who appeared on Dallas, and saw that Martha Scott was on 3 seasons, playing Sue Ellen and Kristin’s mother. I’ll write about that, which may shed some light on how these two daughters were so messed up, and why they’d ever ge6 involved with a guy like JR!
Posted by Realweegiemidget on June 18, 2016 at 3:54 PM
That would be great x I love it, great to hear from another Dallas fan – got quite a few reviews of the casts TV and film here and even mention Martha Scott in my Remembering post about George Kennedy. Great to have you on board x

Oh that’s cool new ‘about me’ . Glad you updated it. 🙂
Do you have Casablanca? 😉 Its the beginning of a new friendship 😀
Posted by jennifromrollamo on September 26, 2014 at 7:01 PM
No, no copy of Casablanca here but I do have The Searchers. 🙂 Casablanca is an excellently made film-outstanding cast, great writing, and to think it was almost cast with Ronald Reagan as Rick!

Agree. I just remember the beautiful smile of Ingrid Bergman!! 😀 Especially somewhere around, when she says ‘a penny for your thoughts’ 😀
Posted by jennifromrollamo on September 26, 2014 at 7:12 PM
I love Claude Rains in the picture. Especially when he says he’s “shocked, shocked!” that gambling is going on and quickly accepts his payout as he’s shutting down the gamblers!
Posted by trablog on September 26, 2014 at 7:17 PM
he is the inspector , I assume.
Posted by jennifromrollamo on September 30, 2014 at 2:29 PM
Rains plays a Capt. Louis Renault, a Vichy govt. official who is corrupt, and tries to please everybody to keep his hide and wallet, safe.

Dear Jenni – Saw your post elsewhere, about listening to the Campbell Playhouse CHRISTMAS CAROL on WOWO Ft. Wayne. I did that, too, and it had a profound influence on me. Drop me a line, as I’d love to hear more of your story. – Craig

Hi Jenni,
Your name was given to me by Gwen Kramer of Movies, Silently. She thought you might be interested in the first-time published, 1941 fairy tale “Princess April Morning-Glory” written by Letitia Fairbanks, niece of Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford. Letitia hand-lettered the text in calligraphy then illuminated around the word like a medieval Bible, as well as illustrating the book in watercolors and gold & silver leaf. She used her cousin Doug Jr. and John Barrymore as inspiration for some of the character portraits. You can go to http://PrincessApril.com/ and read about the book and see the book trailer. If you’d like a copy to review on your website, I’d be delighted to send you one. Write me at kelley@PrincessApril.com. With my very best wishes, Kelley Smoot Garrett for Letitia Fairbanks and Princess April Morning-Glory.
